The Colorado Provencal is a former ochre quarry. The first sod was turned in 1871, the last washing in 1993 by Roger Arnaud. The site is situated on private property, the owners being both the Mairie (Village Council) and around 150 private landholders, the heirs of the ocriers! Entirely fashioned by the hands of the ochre workers, you will discover the quarry faces, basins and water supply.
